Principles and Doctrines: The rejection of the Savior, His teachings, and priesthood authority resulted in the Apostasy of the New Testament Church.
Several hundred years before the birth of Jesus Christ, the people again fell into apostasy. Throughout the history of mankind there has been a reoccurring pattern of falling to and from God. The teachings of the Savior included the miracles and many ordinances that were demonstrated by Jesus. The great apostasy was necessary to establish the new testament church.
Supporting Scriptures:
Matthew 24:24-This scripture prophesies the bringing forth of false Prophets and idols that will deceive the children of men.
Acts 2:29-30-Jesus declares that when he leaves, there will be wolves to tamper with his flock. This is talking about the confusion of the great apostasy.
Inspirational Writings:
We know that Christ's ministry on this earth was a great and marvelous one, full of lessons of faith and miracles. Also, Christ could not be on this earth forever, he was only here to fulfill his mission, but when he left, the world fell in to an apostasy. That is were all the confusion and misinterpretations come into play, from the false doctrins of man. This was nessisary to bring upon the restoration of the Gospel.
