Principles and Doctrines: Prospective missionaries should prepare for the physical and emotional demands of a full-time mission.

Missionary work is rigorous and demanding. Prospective missionaries are expected to qualify for service in the mission field. This involves not only their level of worthiness but also their physical, mental, and emotional preparation. There are certain things expected of missionaries when it comes to this, they include: Regular exercise, proper hygiene, dental care, clean living quarters, immunizations, and treatment of illness and injury.

Supporting Scriptures:

D&C 4:2-We must give all or our heart, might, mind and strength, this includes the physical side of our bodys.

D&C 88:124-Keeping good physical condition and avoiding laziness is an actual commandment, so we must follow it like any other commandment.

Inspirational Writings:

There is a despirate need for our bodies to be in good shape for the physical demands of the mission. Everyone I have personally spoken to about their mission has mentioned long days of strunuous walking or bike riding, we need to fulfill these requierments before we go out on the mission.
